Tungsten Poster

Tungsten 
Part of my Typography 2 final project. Students were instructed to choose a typeface and use a poster to communicate a metaphor about that typeface. My intent was to communicate that Tungsten is a machine and to highlight its precise, authoritative nature.
Materials used: several types of metallic silver paint, foam brush, metal parts and bolts from hardware store, used bicycle gears, used car part from a junk yard, letterforms cut from black board

The background of the poster is a scrap piece of copper that I urinated on to patina it. Free and easy solution!

I played with different ways to integrate my letterforms with the metal and scrap parts and then photographed them from different angles on the copper background.

My two favorites are pictured below.
